First up was at The Eel's Foot on the 16th of July. There were several people eating outside at the front of the pub so we had a captive audience as we started dancing. We put on quite a good show, even though there were not as many of us as we have sometimes had recently.
There was a bit of banter between us and some of the audience; in particular a bloke named Bob who was staying in one of the holiday lets at the back of the pub.
After a few dances I called "four up for a Dragon Dance" only to be met by six dancers who all wanted to dance. "Can't we have two sets?" somebody asked but there were only seven fit dancers all told. Before I knew what was happening Debs had press-ganged Bob into joining in. After a quick walk through we were off and Bob did a good job for a Morris novice.
On the 23rd we were dancing at The Sweffling White Horse with Barley Brigg. The pub is not usually open on a Tuesday night but they had agreed to open specially for us to dance. There was a very good audience to watch us perform and they seemed to enjoy what they saw.
